Roadshow 2026 Registration FAQs
Eligible leaders from state and state integrated secondary and area schools (Years 9–13) are invited to attend this free event. Eligible leaders include:
- Principals, Tumuaki
- Deputy Principals, Tumuaki Tuarua
- Assistant/Associate Principal, Pou Āwhina
- Senior Leadership Team members, Pouārahi
- Directors of Curriculum or Assessment, Kaitohu Aromatawai /Kaitohu Marautanga
- Principal’s Nominee, Kaitakawaenga ki te Tumuaki
- School Board Presiding Members, Mema o te Poari Kura
Each school may register up to three leaders for in-person attendance. This limit helps us manage venue capacity and event logistics across all Roadshow locations.
Online participation is unlimited for all eligible leaders, including those from private and charter schools.
While the registration system may allow you to select more than three in-person spaces, each school is limited to a maximum of three confirmed in-person attendees.
If you register more than three people, those additional registrations may be moved to online attendance or cancelled. This will depend on overall registration numbers, venue capacity, and demand across regions.

There is an initial limit of three in-person attendees to ensure as many schools as possible can be represented at each location. Additional spaces may be released closer to the event if capacity allows.
Yes, additional in person spaces may be released approximately six weeks before the event if venues have remaining capacity. We will keep you updated via the School Bulletin.
No. The Roadshow is for current school or kura based education leaders (Years 9–13) only. This means staff such as classroom teachers, consultants, cluster managers, facilitators, retired teachers, or others not currently in school leadership roles cannot attend, either in person or online.
Yes. Eligible leaders from Realm countries may register to attend online.

Yes. You are welcome to register for an in-person event in any region, depending on availability.
If travelling isn’t practical, you can also register for any of the online events, which are open to all eligible school leaders.
We encourage you to attend live for the full experience. If you can’t make it, selected highlights will be available on Tāhūrangi after the Roadshow.
If you need to change your registration (e.g., from in-person to online or vice versa) or cancel your place, please email tepoutahu@orbitwellington.com. Changes depend on venue capacity, so in person spaces may not always be available.
Yes, all online events are delivered live.
Your link to join will be emailed to the address you used to register a few days before your registered event.
Please note, for logistical and venue‑readiness reasons we’re not able to offer an online version of the Wellington event.

The full Roadshow will not be available as a recording. However, video highlights will be shared on Tāhūrangi shortly after the event.
Across all locations, please set aside a full day (8:00am-5:00pm) for the event.
The Wellington programme will begin slightly later (approximately 10:30am) to accommodate essential logistical and venue‑readiness requirements. As a result, this session will run as a shorter, in person only event, and an online option won’t be available for this location. We will still cover all key updates and content on the day.

Yes. You’ll be able to ask questions in several ways:
- Before the event: You can submit pre-event questions through the registration website here.
- During in-person sessions: In-person attendees will be able to submit questions using the event app.
- During online sessions: Online attendees will be able to ask questions through the online event platform’s Q&A function.
More detailed instructions on how to submit questions both in person and online will be emailed to all registered attendees prior to the event.
School leaders will receive Roadshow updates through two key channels:
- The School Bulletin: Important announcements, reminders, and general event updates will be shared in the Ministry’s School Bulletin.
- Direct updates once registered: After registering, attendees will automatically receive email updates with the latest event information, including programme details, venue logistics, reminders, and any changes they need to know about.
A photographer may be present at one or more of the Roadshow events, capturing moments such as attendees networking, engaging in discussions, or listening to speakers. In addition, all sessions will be livestreamed, and your image may be captured as part of that coverage.
Images and recordings may be used by the Ministry in communications about the event including, but not limited to, the Ministry’s website, newsletters, and social media channels. They will not be used for any other purpose.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you are welcome to register for one of the online events, where your image will not be captured.
All resources, videos, and FAQs from the 2025 Curriculum Roadshow for Leaders (Years 0–8) are available on Tāhūrangi. You can access them on Tāhūrangi.
We’re working through what supporting materials will be available. If resources are provided on the day, we’ll also make them available online once the event series has finished, and we’ll let you know as soon as they’re live.
Yes, leaders from Māori‑medium and kaupapa Māori kura are encouraged to attend. The discussion will be valuable for all schools and kura. The event also offers a useful opportunity to connect with other leaders.
The Roadshow is free to attend for all eligible attendees.
Support is available for mileage and teacher release (for eligible schools).
In-person attendees can claim for:
- Mileage using the applicable IRD mileage rate for 2026 - based on the distance from your school (not home).
- Reimbursement for flights or trains where health, safety, or logistics require alternative transport (up to the equivalent mileage value).
In person and online attendees can claim for:
- Teacher release for U3 and under teaching principals for the day of the event.
Full reimbursement guidance, including reimbursement rates and instructions will be emailed to attendees after the Roadshow. Please ensure you keep all relevant receipts and supporting documentation.
Do not send your invoice until you have received the reimbursement guidance, as it contains the details required for your claim to be processed.
If you registered but did not attend, you will not receive the reimbursement email.
