The curriculum provides the framework. Leaders create the conditions. Teachers bring it to life. Learners make it their own.
Eligible leaders from state and integrated primary and secondary schools and kura (Years 0-10) are invited to attend this free event. Eligible leaders include:
- Principals, Tumuaki
- Deputy Principals, Tumuaki Tuarua
- Assistant/Associate Principal, Pou Āwhina
- Senior Leadership Team members, Pouārahi
- Directors of Curriculum or Assessment, Kaitohu Aromatawai /Kaitohu Marautanga
- Principal’s Nominee, Kaitakawaenga ki te Tumuaki
- School Board Presiding Members, Mema o te Poari Kura
Each school may register up to two people for in-person attendance. This limit helps us manage venue capacity and event logistics across all locations.
Online attendance:
Unlimited for all eligible leaders, including those from private and charter schools.
In-person attendees can claim for:
- Mileage using the applicable IRD mileage rate for 2026 - based on the distance from your school (not home).
- Teacher release (for U3 and under) the day of the event.
The sessions are for current school or kura based education leaders (Years 0-10) only. In smaller schools and kura where teachers also perform leadership roles, those teachers may also attend. Otherwise, classroom teachers, consultants, cluster managers, facilitators, retired teachers, or others not currently in school leadership roles cannot attend.
Eligible leaders from Realm countries may register to attend the online webinars.
Yes. You are welcome to register for an in-person event in any region depending on availability.
If travelling isn’t practical, you can also register for any of the online webinars, which are open to all eligible school leaders.
Yes, the discussion will be valuable for all schools and kura and there is a half-day session on Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
